Tips for Purchasing a Remanufactured Copier

Check out any company you’re considering doing business with through the Better Business Bureau or through their state’s Attorney General’s office.  They will give you valuable background information about a company’s customer complaint history, including not only the number of complaints, but whether or not they responded to the complaints.

Coast to Coast Copiers is a member of the Better Business Bureau and has had zero complaints in the past twelve months.

Beware of companies that will not accept credit cards.  Although some may tell you it’s because they don’t want to pay the fees, it usually is because they have had significant credit card chargebacks from unhappy customers.

Coast to Coast Copiers accepts all major credit cards (and checks).

Also beware of companies that don’t list their physical address on their website.  Sometimes this is because although their website boasts of a state of the art facility and a professional staff, it is really one person working from home.  Other times it is because they have had to change their company names due to problems or bankruptcies and they don’t want anyone to be able to find them.

Coast to Coast Copiers has a map to our location on our website and encourages people to come into our showroom to see what we have to offer.

You should be able to call a toll free number to talk to a live person and not have to leave a voicemail, hoping that someone calls you back.  Many companies answer the phone after you press the sales option, but let all service or support calls go into voicemail in order to screen the calls that they return.

Coast to Coast Copiers has a voicemail system for after hours calls only.  During normal business hours (8 am to 5:30 pm CST) you can reach us at our toll free number (800-280-8005) and your phone call will be answered by a friendly, knowledgeable staff member.  If all lines are busy, we guarantee a callback within a maximum of one hour.

Check out the fine print in a company’s warranty policies.  Sometimes some of the details give you a good indication of the type of company you’re dealing with.

Coast to Coast Copiers warranty program is straightforward and shown on our home page and invoice.

Don’t be too impressed by the fancy terminology used by some companies to describe the remanufacturing process.  “Factory Trained Technicians”, “Exhaustive Certification Process”, “Painstaking Review and Testing Procedures.”  The actions are what is important, not the words.  The important thing is that the machine has a relatively low meter, that all consumable and wearable components are replaced with high quality parts (so a local company will put the machine under service), that the external meter and internal meters match, that all the functions and options are completely tested, and there is a track record of standing behind the warranty should something go wrong.

Coast to Coast Copiers only sells machines that have between 6 months and a years worth of usage; uses only OEM parts; guarantees the machine will be accepted for service; does not reset the copy meter so you know the true life of the machine; fully tests every function and option and keeps records to prove it; replaces any external parts necessary to make sure the machine looks like new; and has a clean, verifiable customer satisfaction record with no complaints for not honoring our warranty program.
